Friends,
So many wonderful and special friends!
Bob and I have 3 more weeks of cancer treatments and then probably 4-6 weeks for recovery from the extreme damage done to Bob’s body by chemo and radiation.
If I tried to thank everyone for everything I would still be typing tomorrow ?.
It’s hard to describe all the side effects of the physical symptoms Bob is suffering.
Mentally and emotionally we are both challenged, but we talk a lot, hug and kiss a lot, and love all the attention we receive from friends.
My friends are unbelievable…I play bridge, mahjong, or cards 4or5 days a week and get offers of pickleball and coffee chats…my foundation is solid?
Bob friends are also unbelievable, but I know it’s difficult for them to know how to approach when or what Bob needs. So all my “backup darlings”, here are some thoughts…
Weekdays radiation is every morning and chem is all day Thursday.
With that said, he loves his Wednesday afternoon poker games and morning billiards when it rains. So that leaves afternoons and weekends when I “get out of his hair”.
Given his uncomfortable side effects, going out is limited, but visits drop in or planned would lift his spirits because he does miss his buddies. Because of the damage radiation is causing in his mouth, he can’t talk much so phone calls are tough.
Thanks for always listening and being there for both of us,
